Emilia is passionate about creating immersive narratives, and has directed 360° video ads and theatrical works in unconventional spaces including the Bogotá Planetarium dome. Her latest work, Origen 360, is an interactive, 360° documentary connecting the Amazon rainforest, Andes mountain range, and Argentine desert.
Lual is an independent video game designer, developer, entrepreneur, and founder of Junub Games. Growing up in a refugee camp in Northern Uganda, Lual taught himself to code and created Salaam, uniting the virtual world of gaming with the lived journeys of displaced people. Lual uses his own experience as a refugee to design immersive games and digital tools for education and social impact.
Rise-Home Stories is a groundbreaking collaboration between multimedia storytellers and social justice advocates seeking to change our relationships to land, home, and race by transforming the stories we tell about them. The group has created a suite of five multimedia narrative projects, including Dot’s Home, aimed at validating the experiences of BIPOC youth, challenging narratives that value profit over people, and conveying the beauty and richness of families and communities of color.
With a background in game production, art, marketing, and music, El founded Indonesian creative studio Khayalan Arts to promote positive environmental, cultural, and social values through visual and interactive storytelling. His projects’ profits support the goal of reducing Indonesia’s plastic use to 70% by 2025.
