Unity Opto lands LCD TV backlight unit order from Korea

CH Wu, the chairman of LED maker Unity Opto Technology, recently confirmed that the company received LCD TV backlight unit (BLU) orders from a Korea-based company with the first shipment batch totaling 50,000 units, according to the Chinese-language newspaper, Economic Daily News (EDN).
Unity will ship about 200,000 units to the Korean company for the whole year and the orders will generate more than NT$130 million (US$3.9 million) in revenues for the LED maker in 2007, said the paper.
